Unfiltered Story #67348

Unfiltered | November 4, 2016

I have recently passed my A-levels, and got into my preferred university. As a reward of sorts, my Dad has offered to buy me an ornament from the book/gift shop I work at over the summer holidays, and I have taken him there to show which one I would like.

Fellow Customer: Oh, how nice that you have a boyfriend who buys you such lovely things! Hold on to this one, dear.

Me: um, he’s my Dad, actually. (to coworker at the till) please don’t mention this to anyone!

Coworker, smiling: oh, no chance, kid. This is /gold/.

I was asked about my ‘sugardaddy’ by teasing coworkers until I left for uni, but it brightened everyone’s day so I didn’t mind.
