(I’m working drive thru. I’m handing out an order to a car full of guys just grinning ear to ear with red faces. Suddenly, I smell a stink from outside the window. I don’t think anything of it and decide to make a conversational comment on their way off.)

Me: Oh boy, guys, did you run over a skunk earlier? Try to have a good night with that smell!

(The guys in the car just turn towards each other with wide eyes and they giggle before driving off.

I turn back to my coworkers and, after 3 full seconds, it dawns on me.)

Me: OOHHHH! Man, I know what THEY were up to! Why’d that take me so long?
