Unfiltered Story #67214
I was just at the grocery store and witnessed this little gem. Was checking out some groceries at the self checkout and a woman and her friends walked up with an armload each and just dumped their stuff on the self checkout conveyor belt and started trying to scan their groceries.
‘Trying’ being the operative word.
After several tries, the older woman shouted at the poor checkout girl, “This scanner is not working!”
Checker: “Ma’am, that self checkout is closed.”
Woman: “Well how was *I* supposed to know that!?”
Checker: “The light isn’t on and the screen says ‘closed’.”
That was about when the woman actually looked at the screen and saw what the checker was talking about. She and her friends snatched up all their stuff and hurried off to an actual checkout lane. Think they were just a LITTLE embarrassed at their attitude — or their actions. or both?
