Due to chronic sinus infections, I am constantly in a state of paying off medical bills – and needing to reassure the hospital’s billing department that the reason I have a balance so long after my visit is that I’m paying incrementally, not refusing to pay. I receive a call from the hospital, and pick up.
Automated voice: “This call is important! Please stay on the line. This call is important! Please stay on the line. This call is important!” *disconnects*
When I called back, I got the billing department, who were concerned about my having a balance so long after my last visit.
