Unfiltered Story #57002

I recently started a new job. On my first day, my boss asks where I’m from, as I’m a student worker and students at my college come from all over the country.

Me: I’m from Jersey.

Boss: Oh, really? (Coworker) is from New Jersey, too. We always tease him about it.

Later that day, said coworker came into the room I was working in.

Coworker: Pork rolls.

Me: Sorry?

Coworker: Yeah, pork rolls.

Me: *confused* What about ’em?

Coworker: Well, you know what they are?

Me: Yeah, like Taylor ham, right?

Coworker: No one else here knows what that is.

Me: *laughs*.

Again, later that day.

Boss: Hey, do you know what pork rolls are?

Me: …yes.

Boss: Is that something you guys…eat? (Coworker) sent me a picture. It looks disgusting.

Me: Well I don’t, but yeah, it’s a pretty common breakfast food where I’m from. My brother loves them on his bagels.

Boss: Oh, well (Coworker) kept talking about it when I mentioned you’re from Jersey.
