Unfiltered Story #56976
(I work second shift in a very small factory – there’s only 15 people on our shift – so everyone knows everyone’s business. For breaks there is a break room and some outdoor seating. I started working in the middle of winter, so when the weather got warm, I switched from having breaks in the break room to the outdoor areas. This story takes place in the middle of July on a day with severe thunderstorms.)
Me: *enters the break room and sits down to eat something*
Coworker: Oh, [My Name]! We haven’t seen you in here for breaks lately!
Me: *not looking up* Yeah, it’s nicer to sit outside when it’s this warm out.
Coworker: *completely serious* Didn’t feel like it today?
Me: *looks at coworker*
Me: *looks out window at pouring rain and lightning*
Me: *looks back at coworker*
Me: It’s…raining.
Coworker: Yes, it is. It’s pretty hot today, better stay inside!
Me: ???
