Unfiltered Story #56967
(My ex husband was a locksmith so I have a bump key that I never got to work. One day getting in my new apartment I realized I was opening the door with it instead of my actual key. With neighbors consent I tested their doors and opens every single one. I told the landlord.)
Landlord: my locksmith says everything is secure.
Police not even a month later: Hi, this is officer (name) is anything missing from your storage? There was a break in 2 weeks ago.
Me: I was just down there last night and I didn’t see a break in.
Officer: they used a universal key.
Me: oh really? I told the owner this would happen months ago!
(I went down to check my storage and ran into a neighbor who had 3 guns and multiple expensive things taken. The landlord won’t meet my eyes after 2 years. I suspect he doesn’t like a woman knowing more than him.)
