Unfiltered Story #56913

Im asked to help out a guy at work who apparently has been struggeling but hasn’t mentioned anything. he is a decent guy, but a little to self assured.

Me: Hey, (boss) asked me to give you a hand.

Worker: Oh hey, thanks but I don’t think I need any help I’m done.

Me: Great, how about I just take a look and see if a fresh pair of eyes could help.

( I look through his report and find loads of mistakes and wrong use of words, nicely as I can let him know what needs to be changed. My boss calls me in the next day.)

Boss: Thanks for helping out (worker)

Me: No worries, he was doing ok but just needed some technical help.

Boss; Apparently he didn’t and he did it all himself.

Me: Okay, well that is a little unfair.

Boss: Oh I know, I made sure the directors knew that. as well good job yesterday.

( I heard that he was telling everyone how I needed his help, thankfully no one believed him! I respectfully decline to assist in future.)
