Best Not Frown On Their Behavior

(My husband and I have twin nephews. They are two years old and are trying to figure out the concept of love.)

Me: “Do you love me?”

Nephew #1: “Yes, I love you.”

Nephew #2: “And I love you too!”

Me: “And do you love [my husband]?”

Nephews #1 & #2: “No!”

(My husband frowns and pretends to pout.)

Me: “Oh no, you made him cry! Can you make him happy?”

(Nephew #1 reaches over and forces my husband’s frown into a smile with his hand, while Nephew #2 pats him on the head.)

Nephew #2: “Be happy now, okay?”
