Unfiltered Story #47891

Unfiltered | September 1, 2016

(I’m in my room when my cell phone starts to ring. I pick it up. There’s a lot of noise in the background, and I can’t understand the person on the other end very well. This is what I think she says.)

Me: Hello?

Caller: Hi. Is Charles there?

Me: Excuse me?

Caller: Is this Charles?

Me: I’m sorry. You have the wrong number. Goodbye. (I hang up.) (A few minutes later, it rings again. I pick up.)

Me: Hello?

Caller: Yes, hello. Is this Charles? Is Charles there?

Me: (forcefully) This is the wrong number.

Caller: Oh, I’m sorry. You sound like my granddaughter. (Hangs up.)

Me: Well, okay?

(The lady didn’t sound like one of my grandmothers, and the only thing I could think was “Does she have a granddaughter named Charles?” In any case, she got the message that she was calling the wrong number because she didn’t call again.)
