I was helping my husband put our new futon together. I was handing him tools and parts and helping tighten connectors and it was going together quickly without any problems or cross words between us. Unlike other projects I’d helped him with in the past in which I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and he’d lose his patience with me.

As he was tightening a nut on a bolt I was holding on the other side of the frame, he grunted, “you could make a case that one person could put this thing together, but it’s much easier when you have a second person here to yell at.”

We laughed the rest of the day.
