(It’s a long hot day, so my mom’s making lemonade. I’m not quite fond of too much ice, and I often put only one or two cubes. My sister is squeezing lemons at the moment.)

Sister: Hey, [My Name], can you put some ice on my glass?

Me: How much?

Mom: Four, put four.

(I pick out ice and my mom pulls the ice cube tray, when I’m in the middle of getting the third cube. She snatches the ones in my hand.)

Mom: You’re so slow! Give me that! *begins to put in 5 cubes*

Me: Mom?

Mom: What?

Me: That’s five cube–

Mom: Shut up. You get five.
