It’s my husband’s cousin’s wedding and the first time I’ve been out since having my son a month ago. As my husband is coming straight from work, I arrive on my own. I start saying hello to the various relatives when I see one of the uncles.

Me: Hello [uncle]

Uncle: Hello [me]. (looks around). Where is he?

Me: [Husband]? He’s coming directly from work today so he didn’t come with me.

Uncle: I’m not interested in [husband], I want to know where [son] is!

I start laughing, that was me corrected! Just for those curious few, my son was with an aunt and cousin on the other side of the family, receiving many more kisses and cuddles than he would have had with tired mummy :P
