Unreasonable boss: “We need you to come in to work.”

Me: “No.”

Unreasonable boss: “Why not?”

Me: “It’s my day off.”

Unreasonable boss: “Yes, but we need you here. What are you doing that’s more important?”

Me: “I’m going to have a wank.”

(Uncomfortable pause.)

Unreasonable boss: “We’ll talk about this on … Thursday?”

Nothing came of it. He avoided me from then when he could. He wasn’t actually around much after that.
