I am in a clothing store with my mom. My mom is trying clothes on in the dressing room and I’m waiting with the cart.

A man approached me.

Man: “Where are the coats?”

Me: A little confused because I am wearing a zebra striped shirt, tank top and shorts, and don’t look like an employee. “What?”

Man: “I need coats. Where are they?”

Me, figuring I should try to be helpful: “I don’t know, maybe try the back wall?”

Man: “Thank you.”

He left and I figured that was that. My mom left the dressing room about fifteen minutes later and then we go to the back wall so she can find more clothes.

Who do we run into?

The man from before. With an actual employee. He glares at me when he sees me.

Man: “They weren’t on the back wall.”

What did he expect me to do about it? He said it accustatory too.

The employee hears his statement and he looks towards me. “Sir she doesn’t work here, she probably just guessed.”

Man: “If she’s going to tell people where to look, she should know it’s the right area.”

Me: “This is my first time in the store!”
