Unfiltered Story #392051
I work in a call center taking payments for people who cross over the bridges. This is how an average call goes
Me: “Thank you for calling [Company], My name [name]. Can I get your license plate or account number?”
Caller: “I received bill I already paid.”
Me: “Sorry to hear that, but I’ll be happy to help. Can I get your license plate number?”
Caller: Repeats issue
Me: “I can help you with that but I need some information to pull up the bill, can I get your license plate?.”
Customer finally gives license plate and I have the bill pulled up.
Me: “Thank you for that, can I get your first and last name?”
Customer: “The name on the bill is [name].”
Me: “And what is your first and last name?”
Customer: “Why do you need my information, I gave you the name on the bill?”
Me: : “Because our notes are considered legal documents we can’t proceed with the call until we have the callers name and the information verified.”
Caller: “Fine, my name is [name].
Me: “Alright and what is the bill number, it will be in the upper left or right hand corner?”
Caller: “I don’t see it, can’t you get this taken care of without it?”
Me: : “Because our notes are considered legal documents we can’t proceed with the call until we have the information verified. The bill number will be in either the upper left or upper right hand corner on the first page.”
Customer gives the bill number and I finish verifying them.
Me: “You crossed twice and only paid for one bill. Anytime you cross over the bridge you are required to pay, you have until [date] before late fees are added.”
Caller: “I’m not paying for that. All crossings should be sent together”
Caller hangs up.
I check back a few months later to see that not only did they pay the toll, but they also paid the penalty fees.
