Unfiltered Story #390049
A few years ago I’m driving home from work one afternoon, and I’m stuck behind a school bus. Because we’re stopped at a light, I’m idly looking around, and I see the sign on the back of the bus. It reads:
CALL THIS NUMBER FOR ERATIC DRIVING.
With a phone number beneath it. Obviously this must be fixed. I call the number.
Representative> Good afternoon, [Bus Company], can I help you?
Me> Hi, I’m calling about one of your buses. Well, no, it’s about a sign on one of your buses.
Rep> Okay?
Me> Yeah, uh, you spelled “erratic” wrong.
Rep> …we did?
Me> Yeah, uh, you spelled it with one R. It should have two Rs, E-R-R-
Rep> -A-T-I-C, yep, I got it. Oh my god how did we miss that…
Me> It’s on a school bus!
Rep> I know, I know! *sigh* We’ll fix it, thank you for letting us know.
And what reminded me of this story, just now my partner texts me a photo of a city bus with an ad that reads:
RELIEVE YOUR LIFE FROM OPIODS.
Good to know spelling is STILL not taught in schools…
