Family: “It’s been really hot here, so just bring tank tops and shorts. You don’t need anything fancy.”
(My family, after I’ve arrived:)
Family: “Why don’t you have any nice clothes? You have to attend a semi formal event, you know!”
(Lucky for me, I had taken a nice dress just in case they pulled something like this!)
