My coworker is from South America, and has a distinct, but lovely, accent. They have to record some videos of themselves for a project they’re doing, to send to the marketing team so the videos can be put on social media.

Because the person my coworker is sending the videos to seems like the average American, with an “American” surname, is white, has blond hair and blue eyes, and the most midwestern American accent, my coworker doesn’t care about the editing, so the videos have a lot of flubs and bloopers recorded in their native tongue: Spanish. Some of them are silly, some are angry, some are just mistakes.

The evening the videos are sent, the person from the marketing team sends an email back…in perfect Spanish.

Turns out the mother of said marketing person was born and raised in Mexico.

My coworker never lived it down!
