Unfiltered Story #373559
(My mother has passed away, and I am calling a financial group to find out if a loan my mother held was paid off.)
Me: “My mother has passed away, and I’ve found records indicating that she held a loan with you. I can’t find anything to say it was paid off. Can you please tell me if it was paid?”
Employee: “Please put your mother on the phone to confirm her information.”
(Cue a wonderful argument over the fact that I couldn’t put my deceased mother on the phone. I was able to call another number for the company and get someone who understood the situation, and could help.)
