Unfiltered Story #369781
I’m in a sheltered workshop, a workplace for disabled workers. One of my coworkers, under guardianship, was on track for guardianship’s withdrawal. He had an annual review meeting with his job coach, workshop supervisor and guardian a few days before the hearings before the guardianship judge.
Job coach: I’d like to testify for the guardianship withdrawal.
Legual guardian : that’s not your role…
Job coach: but I don’t think he’s fit to lift the guardianship.
Legual guardian: the doctor has seen him and thinks he it’s apte to live without guardian. I would also testify in this sense. These are the only sufficient testimonies along with [ coworker] testimonieq . The guardianship judge will decide.
Job coach: but since the hearing is during work, we can always refuse.
Seeing my coworker and the guardian are ready to lose their temper the workshop supervisor step in
– why? He’s got proof, and he’s not the one who decides on the dates for the court hearings. Management would rightly protest if he were refused permission to go.
The job coach, having run out of arguments, left the meeting room at that point !
In fact, the coworker had denounced racist remarks (with proof) made by the job coach against other coworkers who hadn’t dared to say anything. The job coach had been given a warning, and liké a,my coworker was delighted to be on track for a withdrawal, the job coach had wanted revenge.
It failed, the guardianship was lifted and the job coach was laid off for weeks.
