(I am in a 11th grade AP English course and we are having a structured debate about misogyny in the workplace. I am in the “outer circle” of the debate, meaning I am not technically in the debate, just spectating and but am allowed to interject a limited amount of times. I am female and although I dress gothic and am queer, I am a Christian and am fairly well read in the Bible)

Overly religious girl in my class: “Well, that’s kind of how God made us. Women are inferior to men, that’s just how He made us.”

*uncomfortable silence in the class*

Me: “Did you read the part in the Bible where it said ‘all men are created equal’?????”

*entire class erupts*

(Seriously, Girl, it’s in the first book of the Old Testament. Come on.)
