I work in a call center asking people to pay invoices. This happens when I am newly hired about three weeks later. I am sitting in my cubicle when my supervisor comes and loudly starts explaining things to me.

Supervisor: (quietly) I know you don’t really need to know this, I am just trying to listen in on (coworkers) conversation I’m the next cubicle.

Me: …

Supervisor: you don’t understand they are still upset I was promoted and not them. I need to see what they are saying about me.

(She continues to linger until my coworkers caught on and stopped talking to each other. It was no surprise to me when one of them quit two months later.)
