(My little brother is 10 and I’m 15. I’m female. We’re watching a show about men fighting each other in wartimes. I decide to razz him.)

Me: *teasing* “Look at these men, they’re always fighting and killing each other. And for what? They’re so stupid.”

Little Brother: *puffing* “They fight to give their FAT WIVES a better life!”

Me: “MOM! [Brother] called you fat!”

Mom: “WHAT!?”

(I explained and Mom gave Brother a scolding for calling her fat, and then left. Brother glared, but didn’t get punishment. Dad called Mom fat once and he was in the doghouse!)
