This was in my 10th grade chemistry class. We are learning about how different chemicals can change the fire color when applied above the flame

When we are about to begin with our experiment, Our teacher divides us into groupsbso we get to know each other. This one particular kid is a bit of a bad child. Since we are suppose to test the flame of different elements mixed with the flame, he decides to be a jokester and move the flame around. (noted the flame is coming through a gas pipe and you can increase and decrease the flow of oxygen and move the stand around) Instead of keeping it vertical he ddecides to put it on its side on a horizontal level. Since our tables are relatively close if you put the flame on high it can reach the other table. He of course puts it on high and aims it at a girls backpack. He lights the flame and since he didn’t turn the the valve off, there’s a massive flame burst that catches mainly half the table on fire. The teacher was able to put it out with no significant damages except the girls backpack was burned.
The best part. He wasn’t suspended or expelled and he’s still in that class!
