Unfiltered Story #364071
(I’ve decided to take a cab to my master’s graduation ceremony, which is at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. I’ve stayed the night before with my parents in a hotel in a very tourist-y area. I flag down a taxi and get in.)
Me: Hi. Radio City Music Hall, please.
Driver: *pause* Where is that?
(I’m flabbergasted into silence for a second before I thank my lucky stars I know the rough address.)
Me: Uhh, 6th Avenue and 50th?
(The driver nods and takes off, while I sit in the back seat wondering what the heck just happened. One of the most famous landmarks in a city where he drives every day, and he’s asking ME for the address?)
