(I am watching two boys play Super Smash Bros Brawl at the display TV. I’m waiting for one or both of them to finish playing so I can have a turn. They play several matches before I finally decide to speak up.)

Me: Hey guys, do you mind if I play a round or two? I’ve been waiting a while
Guy 1: (scoffing) Girls can’t play video games
Me: Excuse me, what? I play this game all the time at my friend’s house.
Guy 2: Oh yeah? Who do you main?
Me: Ike.
Guy 2: Ike? Pfft, he’s such a bad character. If you really played this game you’d know no one can win with Ike. Go home
Me: I’ll SHOW you I can play Ike, just give me a controller.
Guy 1: No way.
Me: What’s the matter, are you scared of losing to Ike, or to a girl?
Guy 2: (bristles) You know what? Fine! Take (Guy 1’s) controller, if you can win against me we’ll let you play as long as you want! If you can’t then just leave us alone!
(Guy 1 hands over the controller. I win the match easily. Guy 2 actually looks like he might cry, and he tugs his hat down over his eyes)
Me: (to Guy 2) You wanna try too?
Guy 1: Uhhh nope. Nope, all yours.
