Unfiltered Story #363815

(A little background first, I work as custodial in a college dining center that also delivers food an dishes to a retirement center a few floors up. I was about to clock out when the head of catering started asking for help)
Catering: does anyone know where the Medical Center is?
Me: Yeah, one floor up and over there (pointing in the general direction)
Catering: yeah, they got a few hams up there that I need someone to pick up, would you mind?
Me: Sure
(I get a cart and head up one floor and over to the Medical Center)
Me: I heard there was some ham I was supposed to pick up?
(they looked at me like I was insane)
MC Staff: um, we don’t have any ham. . . are you sure you’re in the right place?
Me: I’m pretty sure she said Medical Center. . .
MC Staff: Maybe you should go and check again.
(I start to head out with an older gentleman who suggests I go up another floor and check at the retirement center. They did have it and I headed back down to talk to catering)
Me: Yeah, you told me the ham was in the Medical Center, it was in the Retirement Center.
(she bursts out laughing)
Catering: that’s what I meant! I refer to the Retirement Center as the Medical Center
Me: What, why? They were looking at me like I was insane!
(We couldn’t stop laughing until I clocked out. Goes to show that not even your bosses are always right)
