I have a streetlight on my property. It had been flickering on and off and would be off for hours at a time for over a week. I called the utility company to come check it. They said they would send someone out. Two weeks later, no changes and the light is out most of the night now. I call again and they told me that someone had checked it and it was repaired. They said they’d send someone out to check it again. When the repair man got here, two days later, he told me that he’d sat outside and watched it two weeks ago, didn’t see any problems, so he’d submitted it as repaired. I told him it wasn’t and could he check it. He said okay, backed his truck up to it and found the wire was worn nearly through and about two pounds of wasp nests in it. Said that the wire would have been worn completely through in another week or two.
