Unfiltered Story #363516
When I was in middle school, my choir class got to go to a large waterpark a few hours from my hometown. We each brought our own stuff, towels, sunscreen, food, money, and any other necessities, that were going to be watched by designated volunteer chaperones. I am extremely pale, and I burn if sunscreen is not applied every 30 minutes to an hour. An hour after we arrive, I go back to our area to reapply sunscreen, and everything is gone. The chaperones, who were supposed to take shifts so the class’s belongings would have someone watching them at all times, had left everything unattended. All of my, and everyone else’s things, were gone. Entire bags, totes, and even ice chests, gone. Which the waterpark can’t do anything about, due to their “we are not responsible for lost or stolen items” policy. So I ended up going 5 more hours without sunscreen, I ended up with a mix of both first and second degree sunburn that took weeks to heal properly. Luckily, my glasses and medication for my Epilepsy was with the choir teacher’s bag, which was left unharmed and unbothered.
