Unfiltered Story #362789
I’m standing in line with my girlfriend, waiting for our gate to open before a concert. A couple minutes before the scheduled time, an employee posts a sign on the door saying our gate is closed and lists alternative gates we can use. Since the line for one of those gates is literally 2 steps to the right, we move into it. We get to the front and…
Usher: *looks at our tickets* “this isn’t your gate. You need to go to your gate.”
Me: “We were there, but one of the other workers posted a sign saying it was closed and said we could use this one.”
Usher: “This isn’t your gate. You can’t come in here. You need to go back out and use your gate.”
Me: “I know this isn’t the gate listed on the ticket. But we were told by your staff that that gate isn’t opening. The sign posted explicitly lists this gate as an alternate. Please, can you let us in?”
Usher: “No, you’re just trying to sneak onto the floor. Now go back to your gate or I’ll call security.”
Me: “Our. Gate. Is – You know what? Fine.”
We left that line and got into another one that actually let us in. I sent off an email after the fact just explaining the situation, and a photo of the sign they posted. They replied, but didn’t even apologize for how that usher treated us. All they said was that they weren’t going to list that gate in the future. Win? I guess?
