(My brother was making a hard boiled egg, and he wasn’t paying very much attention to the pot he was using. I noticed the water was about to boil over, so I let him know.)
Me: Hey, [Brother], the water is about to boil over.
Brother: *without looking at the pot* No it isn’t.
Me: Seriously, it’s gonna boil over.
Brother: No, it isn’t! Shut up and let me make my egg!
(The water boils over, and he finally turns to look at the pot)
Brother: Huh. It boiled over.
