(A friend of mine and I have had a bit of a turbulent relationship. We’ve made up after a big conflict, but one of my other friends refuses to forgive her. For the sake of this, let’s call them [Friend] and [Other Friend.] I dated [Friend] for a while, before she broke up with me due to a fear of her possibly-homophobic parents. I understood, but [Other Friend] didn’t.)
Me: Well, [Friend] and I broke up.
Other Friend: Do I need to punch her in the face?
Me: No! We’re still on good terms. She’s afraid of her parents, afraid they might disown her for being a lesbian.
Other Friend: Why? How old is she, 18?
Me: No! She’s a sophomore! She’s 15!
Other Friend: I still don’t like her.
