Unfiltered Story #361401
(I have not had an active credit card for over a year. My husband and I use cash an debit cards and do not have debt outside of our mortgage. I’ve been getting persistent calls from a credit card company insisting that they can lower my interest rate. When ignoring the calls doesn’t seem to be working, I get fed up and get ahold of a live agent.)
Agent: *in a thick accent* Thank you for calling [company]. How can I help you?
Me: What is the name of the credit card company you work for?
Agent: We are [company] with visa and master card. *he tries to get through his script, but I cut him off*
Me: Hold on. Just a second, ok? I haven’t had a credit card for over a year.
Agent: You don’t have a visa or a master card?
Me: *annoyed* No. I don’t have *any* credit cards. Visa, MasterCard, whatever. You need to put me on your do not call list.
Agent: All right. All right. All right. We will put you on our do not call list.
Me: *not letting him finish* Thank you! *click*
(Hopefully he listened and will stop trying to lower the interest rate on my non-existent credit card.)
