Unfiltered Story #361395

Someone I worked with this past summer ends up randomly being in my town where I go to school. We meet up and end up going out to my University’s pub night. We meet up with a friend of mine there, but due to the loud music and drinks, hearing is an issue.

Me: Oh hey, (friend)! This is my work friend. He’s visiting for the night.
Friend: Oh, and whose this? (Motioning to the person I’ve just introduced)
Me: (trying to speak louder) THIS IS MY FRIEND FROM MY SUMMER JOB. HE’S VISITING.

My friend gives me a thumbs up, and I think she understands. However, the rest of the night she is giggling to herself and making weird comments. The next day, we have the following text conversations.

Friend: So how was YOUR night? (Wink emoji)
Me: (slightly confused) Oh it was fun. Did you have a good time?
Friend: Not as good as you.
Me: Yeah, I had a few a drinks but you were keeping up.
Friend: How is (work friend)?
Me: Good, I think. He’s still sleeping it off.
Friend: Ooo, he slept over?

I’m about to type about the cost of hotels, and how it was easier for him to crash on my couch, when it suddenly clicks.

Me: Um, you do know I know him, right? I told you, I worked with him this past summer at camp.
Friend: Oh…that makes sense.

My friend thought I had picked up a random guy that night and got lucky.
