Unfiltered Story #360762
I’ve just returned to work from maternity leave, and am catching up on email, I see a woman at another organization had emailed to schedule a phone call. A colleague advised her that I was on maternity leave and when I’d be back. This is our email exchange.
Me: I’ve returned from leave, and am working part time the next two weeks. Would you like to chat in the morning later this week?
Her: I’m out this week, can we talk next week?
Me: Sure, I’m available any morning next week except Tuesday.
Her: How about Thursday at 2?
*She sends meeting invite for Thursday afternoon*
Me: As I said, I’m only available in the morning for the next two weeks.
(I hear nothing from her for several days, and eventually decline the meeting invite. She emails me almost immediately after I decline.)
Her: You are now not able to meet this day and time? I saw a cancellation. Can we reschedule?
Me: As I said in my other emails, I’m only available in the morning this week. I return to full time next week. We can definitely reschedule within my availability.
(She suggests some times, I say that any of those are fine, and then I never hear from her again.)
