Unfiltered Story #360613

(My boyfriend and I are playing pool in a bar when the following occurs. Note: He is German, has lived his whole life in Germany, and has an extremely heavy German accent.)

Random Kid (coming up to us): Hey, you want to play against me and my friend?
Boyfriend: Oh, no thank you. We are going to be leaving after this game.
Random Kid: Ok. Hey man, where are you from?
Boyfriend: Germany.
Random Kid: Oh cool! Yeah?! (terribly mangled pronunciation) Sprechen Sie Deutsch!?
Boyfriend (after a momentary pause, very confused): Well… Yes. I should…
Random Kid (cheerfully): That’s so cool!
Boyfriend: (something in German that I can’t quite catch)
Random Kid: Oh no, I don’t speak German. That was, like, all I can say.
(the kid wandered happily off back to his friends, leaving my boyfriend looking perplexed over the whole exchange and I doubled over giggling.)
