Unfiltered Story #353570
While working the opening shift a year or more ago after I had finished ringing a customer up.
Him: How old are you? I mean, you work here so I know you have to be at least 21.
Me: (not thinking much of it as my family has a look young genetic) Oh, I’m 24.
Him: Alright.
Me: Have a nice day!
During my next opening shift the same customer arrives.
Him: (Walking in the door) Man I need sugar this morning! (grabs a hostess treat and walks to the register)
Me: (holding up hostess to scan it) Well this ought to do it!
Him: Yeah… Or you could spot me.
Me: (thinking, ‘I don’t lifts weights’ and wearing an obviously confused look) Huh?
He then slowly lowered his head, finished the transaction and left. An hour later it struck me what he was implying. I’ve not seen that guy in the store ever since, and have felt a little bad about that interaction. But am also glad I didn’t say my first thought.
My coworkers love this story as we are all female crew and a lot “flirting” happens to us a lot. I’ve always wondered how I never had as much as them (no complaints). They reminded me that I’m too dense to notice when it does.
