Unfiltered Story #353568
(My father-in-law is celebrating his 75th birthday. The whole family is gathered for the party. Now, my husband is not well known for being affectionate. He’s a real tough guy, and tends to express his affection through manly back-slaps and fist bumps. At some point in the night, I am in the kitchen, talking to my niece, and I hear yelling from the living room.)
Brother-in-law 1: Oh my God, [My Husband] is hugging Dad!
Brother-in-law 2: Guys, you’re missing it! He’s showing affection!
(We all go to the living room, where my husband is indeed hugging his father very tightly, only the 2nd time I have ever seen him do so in 20 years of knowing him.)
Father-in-law: I think he would have given me a back-slap if I wasn’t so old and frail.
Husband: *laughing* Screw you guys.
(It quickly turned into a group hug, with my husband and his father in the middle.)
