Unfiltered Story #353539
I have fallen on incredibly difficult times to the point where I have literally no money in my bank account. I have started work, but until my check comes in, I have nothing to spend. My friend is kind enough to lend me $5 for lunch, and when my break comes around, I go to the food court.
There’s a place known for its roast beef sandwiches, which I choose to be my lunch, since the other options would be too much with tax included. After pondering and mentioning I’m on a budget (since I have to figure out my best deal food wise) I ask the girl at the counter how much one classic sandwich with a small drink would be. Sadly, it was just over five dollars, and I didn’t have any change on me. Disappointed, i order just the sandwich instead.
To my surprise, she gives me a small cup for free! I thanked her profusely. I would’ve otherwise had nothing to drink other than running across the store to get a drink of water at a fountain, which I couldn’t do at my station. It helped me push through the last few hours of my shift without feeling hungry and having a bit of caffeine energy in me.
