Unfiltered Story #352671
When I was a teenager, I would often listen to music such as Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, and Def Leopard (to name a few). I’ve never heard a mention of it being bad from either parent until a car ride home one day, while listening to Alice Cooper’s “Hey Stoopid”.
Mom: Hey, (my name)?
Me: Yes?
Mom: I think I’m going to start censoring the music you listen to.
Me: What?! Why?
Mom: You’re not a bad kid, but this music will definitely be influencing you to do bad things! I don’t want you listening to this crap! THIS MUSIC IS BAD FOR YOU!
Me: What’s wrong with Alice Cooper? Listen to the lyrics RIGHT NOW! He’s saying that it’s a stupid idea to take drugs or attempt suicide! He’s AGAINST that bad stuff!
I pointed out the lyrics to her and never heard another word about the subject again.
