(I just got hired for a new company whose name unfortunately is also a well known slang racist word. I tell my dad about it.)

Dad: “So where did you get hired?”

Me: “[Racial slur].”

Dad: “That’s racist!”

Me: “Huh? Oh. Well, I guess, but it’s the name, I didn’t pick it!”

Dad: “Well, don’t say it or you’ll get into trouble.”

(The next day, I go to work and I’m with my boss, who’s the race the word is referring to.)

Boss: “What do you want to set your new password as?”

Me: *not thinking* “[Racial slur].”

Boss: *gives me a side eye* “……”

(Ah, retail.)
