I have just submitted a story about my work going from bad to worse during Covid. I just wanted to add the following:
I recently requested to be taken off doing Social Media customer service as it was making my migraines worse, from constantly staring at the screen and not having enough proper breaks. Instead of taking me off completely, I was taken off for most days but just covered the lunch period or a half day until they could train more staff. I was happy do this for the time being until they trained more people. I even helped with the training.
After training more staff on Social Media due to high staff turnover (no surprise there), my TL never sent me the current Social Media rota. I just assumed that I had been taken off completely as this is what I had requested and enough staff had been trained to cover each other.
A few days later I received a message asking why I wasn’t doing Social Media. I informed of the above and was told that I was down to cover a half day and should have asked if I didn’t receive the rota. It was my fault for not checking. Similar situations have happened before where people have been put on the rota at the last minute and didn’t know about it until they were called in on the day.
Just another great day in the office
