Unfiltered Story #351285
(I’m waiting on a call about a job. I’ve been getting telemarketing calls all day about “lowering my interest rate.” Since they are coming from my hometown area code, I keep picking up the phone, as I still have family there. Finally, the 5th or 6th time the phone rings, I’ve had enough.)
Recording: Lower your interest rate now! Press 1 to speak with a representative!
(I press 1. A live person comes on the line.)
Scammer: Hello, this is [Name]. Are you interested in lowering your interest rate?
Me: You people have called me 5 times in the last 6 hours, and I’m done with it. I am on the national do not call list, so technically, what you’re doing is ILLEGAL. I am waiting on a call about a job, and having to talk to you idiots is wasting my time!! You are liars and scammers!! TAKE ME OFF YOUR LIST. Do you understand?!

(10 minutes later, the phone rings. Same number.)
Me: *picks up* WHAT?!
Scammer: *click*
(That was 3 weeks ago. I haven’t gotten a single telemarketing call since.)
