Unfiltered Story #351271
My friend has organized a game night. She has invited two friends I don’t know. One of them wants to teach us his card game, while the other is silent. We have a lot of fun. After a few rounds, my friend offers to refresh our drinks. She leaves the room.
Me: So would you two like to learn the game that [my friend] and I know?
Friend’s Friend #1: You want us to learn ANOTHER card game???
Me: Or not…
We sit in silence until my friend comes back. I try to talk to friend’s friend #2, but he remains silent. My friend and #1 talk amongst themselves.
Later, #1 and I are alone.
Friend’s Friend #1: Sorry. But [Friend’s Friend #2] gets burned out easily and that would have been too much.
Me: OK.
I don’t say anything else, because this guy yells way too easily. Has this society forgotten what a polite refusal is?
