Unfiltered Story #349826

(A friend and I, females in our 20s, are in a store, browsing. She is telling me a story, and of course I’m paying attention to her. I can hear somewhere in the background a voice saying, “hello!” repeatedly. Suddenly, a man who could be my father or grandfather approaches us, almost stepping between us. I’ve never seen him before. He addresses me:)

Old man: “I see you weren’t paying attention to me. How are you doing?”

Me, flabbergasted: “Uhh, I was actually paying attention to my friend, who was telling me a story. Have a good day.”

(Shocked at myself, I start to walk away, my friend following. She raves about how surprised she is that I responded like that, when I’m usually so pleasant!)
