Unfiltered Story #344541
(My 4-year-old nephew started piano lessons this year, so I tagged along to his piano recital. While we’re in the car, the classical station is on, and they’re broadcasting a Beethoven piano sonata.)
Nephew: What’s this piece called?
His Mom: It’s the Pathetique Sonata, by Beethoven.
Nephew: Who’s Beethoven?
His Mom: He was a composer a long time ago who loved the piano and wrote lots of music for it.
Nephew: *thinks* Well – *I* love the piano, so why didn’t you name ME Beethoven?
(Too bad it wasn’t Schubert, since his nickname as a fetus was “the trout”!)
