Unfiltered Story #344514
(My mom and I are visiting my grandma and trying to find something to eat for lunch. I have blood sugar issues and need to eat NOW, but my mom has a lot of allergies. We are walking down the street looking for places.)
Me: We can eat for free with the meal tickets grandma gave us, if you want.
Mom: I do not want to eat there. The food isn’t good.
Me: Yeah, it’s not great food, but if you were willing to eat there, I would rather eat free.
(We notice a pho place and I stop to look at the display menu.)
Mom: Do you want to eat there?
Me: I hate pho, but if you want to eat there I will find something to eat.
Mom: No, I can’t eat pho.
Me: …
(Eventually, we found food we could both eat. The kicker to me is that my mom ended up making me buy her a salad identical to the salads we could have gotten for free with the meal tickets.)
