Unfiltered Story #343212
I got a job through a family friend at the age of 16 at a place that rhymes with Willy’s. They sell Tex-Mex styled food, I was set to run the To-Go counter. I answered phones and placed orders, out of all my serving jobs I’ve had this one was by far the hardest and most ridiculous. It was mostly the management.
I was regularly accused of stealing out of the till because I was always the first to get cut despite the entire restaurant having access to the till all night. It was easy to blame a “kid”. Also whenever the till was short they made us pay out of pocket or with our tips. Managers made me cry by screaming at me in the middle of the dining area, they never took anyone in the office to yell at them. A customer was borderline stalking me, they refused to ban him. It got to the point where I straight up quit the day of my next shift instead of giving my two weeks.
