I am a Grade 7 teacher, and I like to say I am firm but fair with my students. I am pretty easy going with most thing, but I do say no if it’s a safety concern. Everytime I would say no to a certain student, in a joking way we would have this exchange:

Student: THIS IS A DEMOCRACY!

Me: (Student) If I can teach you one thing this year, please let it be that you are using the term ‘democracy’ wrong. A democracy is a system of government where the country is run by the people, the opposite of what you are accusing me of. The word you are looking for is MONARCHY! THIS IS A MONARCHY! Get it?

It still took him until the end of the semester to get it right. Even still he would pause before using the correct word, so it would go like this:

Student: This is a….(looks at me)

Me: (whispers) monarchy.

Student: MONARCHY! This is a monarchy! Not fair!
